Modish Monthly Meetup - July Goals

I'm starting to wonder what the point of my goals are if I don't (ever) complete them. I do like to reference them in times of brain stuck-ness. And maybe scaling back will help. I just find that I get distracted by things NOT on my goal list. Like the new Sustainability series I started. I love it! But wasn't a goal. And I've been working up lots of custom quotes for wedding invites, but again, not a goal. Maybe I should have a blank goal spot that I can fill in at the end of the month for these random things that pop up. Anyway, on to the wrap up and look ahead.

A quick wrap up of my June goals goes like this:1. Why are people flakey? The blog should've been done ages ago. I'm convinced the new hire is a winner though. And when she's done I will rave about her for days.
2. Obvious
3. Too ambitious.
4 & 5 - Giving up on this for the summah
6. YAY!!!! Not only did I jump in and buy some ad space, but I also won some ad space here. Thanks to the Scoutie Girl blog for the heads up on the giveaway.

As for July, I've just returned from a family reunion, we're driving to my brother's wedding in Dallas at the end of the month (for which I must finish the programs!) and have a possible weekend trip to visit a friend in Vegas. So, I'm not holding my breath, but at the absolute LEAST I'd like to see #1 done and #2 started.

Good luck to all of you other Modish Monthly Meet-Up goal setters out there!

So long May goals and Hello June goals (which are all pretty much the same as my May goals)

It's still the first Friday of the month, right? Whew! Barely made it. Out of the five goals I had set for myself for the month of May, I successfully completed one and a half. The Father's Day cards are up (shameless plug to check them out here) and the new blog is SO CLOSE to being ready I can taste it. I am a total hack with web design and finally hit a wall and wasn't able to finish it. But with the wonderful world of Etsy at my finger tips, I've found someone to finish it for a very reasonable price and even a possible trade. Sweet!

#3 - Instead of making new wedding suites I've been tweaking/adding items for my brother's wedding coming up in July. Everything has turned out perfectly and I love that I just got an invitation I designed sent to me in the mail! Alas, I still need to get designing some new wedding suites.

#4 - Yeah, need to do that.

#5 - I think I'm actually giving up on Flickr for a bit. It's quite time intensive and I just have about a million other priorities right now. I'm not giving up on it forever. Just a bit. Unless someone can convince me otherwise.

#6 - This is the new addition for June. There are some great bargains on blog ads out there. I'd like to find something that will work well for me and maybe buy a 3 month stint. Is that long enough? Thoughts?

Yep. That's my May round up and June goals. The hubby is off at a basketball shin dig tonight so maybe I'll start cranking on something now!

April goal wrap up and new May goals for the Modish Biz Tips Monthly Meetup

For those of you who read my April Goal Update post here, this check list hasn't changed much...or at all. I'm happy with how the month ended. I wish I could've cranked out one more wedding suite design but I really like the one that I did get done. I also probably haven't signed into to Flickr since I wrote my list a month ago. Bummer. So, I'm REALLY excited about my May goals. Some of them I've already started working on, which is probably why my April goals fell a bit short. Oh, A.D.D. you plague me so. Congrats to all the other Monthly Meetup folks who rocked their goals for April. Let's do it again! On to May:

1. Finish new blog design and get live.
2. Get Father's Day cards up on Etsy stat.
3. Design two new wedding suites (for reals this time)
4. Start to put a press kit/email together to start emailing bloggers about Paper Mango (yikes!)
5. Get back to Flickr (also for reals)

April Goals Update

Since April is slightly more than half over, I thought I'd give a little progress report on my Modish Biz Tips Monthly Meet-Up goals that I first introduced here.

So far, I'm keeping a good pace. There's a "half X" on the wedding suite catagory because I've gotten one (mostly) done and almost ready to list. I don't know if I'm going to get a second one done, but I've got some idea swirly in my brain, so maybe? It was great to go my Etsy street team meeting the other night. This needs to stay on the goal list. I've got my blog series written and scheduled through the end of the month and though not the most stimulating work, all of my accounting is now in Quick Books! I love checking things of lists so I'm feeling quite productive right now! How are you doing with your April goals?

It's time for some goals, people!

If April showers bring May flowers, I'm hoping April goals bring May crossed-off-to-do-lists. Not quite as poetic but ages more realistic considering it never even rains in April here in the desert. Anyway, the creative/artist/design micro-business community just got a great kick in the pants by the brilliant Jena of Modish and Modish Biz Tips fame. At the Biz Tips blog she put a call of action out to all her readers to set at least 5 goals for the month of April, share them with the world, and be a part of a community that is encouraging each other towards the completion of said goals. Seeing that I have an endless list of things I'm working towards I thought I'd give it a shot. I could always use a little extra motivation and I've already been inspired by some of the other goals I've read and thought maybe someone reading my goals might be similarly encouraged. So, here's my Big Five for April:

1. Get all of my accounting transferred to Quick Books. (Ugh. So tedious, yet SO necessary.)
2. Go to the my local Etsy Street Team meeting for April. (This really shouldn't have to be on here, but I always either forget, or get too busy and I LOVE this group! I need to go.)
3. Create at least 2 more wedding suite designs.
4. Keep up with my Notes & Neighbors and Music to Create to series on my blog.
5. Continuing exploring Flickr, the communities there and all it has to offer.

There it is, folks. I think these are all realistic, necessary and attainable. I guess we'll find out in a month!
